Managers have a very important role in assisting an employee who has a mental illness, is developing the symptoms of a mental illness or is in a mental health crisis. As a Manager our own anxiety can understandably having us avoiding such situations. This session will provide some knowledge and understanding of common mental illnesses and mental health issues, and provide a framework for discussing the Manager’s role in providing assistant to employees affected by mental health problems. With more awareness and understanding Managers can offer more timely and effective assistance and support to individuals in the workplace.
