This session will start by looking at APPA’s role in advancing medical affairs in Australia (presented by Dr David Grolman, President of APPA).
The session will move onto “The role of digital in the journey to health: Implications for Medical Affairs”. Digital has fundamentally changed the way we work, interact and communicate. By putting the patient at the centre, we will explore how healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical companies and other stakeholders play a role in the journey to health – and how digital is part of every touch-point. From patients using Google and social media to understand their condition and connect with others, to pharma engaging healthcare professionals online, Medical Affairs is faced with both opportunities and risks. Through exploring innovative platforms and tools used globally and locally, we will uncover how digital can enhance the role of Medical Affairs. Where are we headed? What are the opportunities and risks, and how do we manage them? How do you know when you and your organisation are ready for change? What will happen if we do not change?
