The landscape is changing in consumer medicine information (CMI). Consumer access to health and medicine information via the internet has improved significantly over the last few years. There has been a lot of research on the format, length and content of the CMI, however research into CMI and new modes of technology is limited. This session explores the combined research outcomes and adds another dimension, on how patients/customers ‘consume’ the CMI. The Electronic Distribution Working Group and GuildLink have explored the option of a shorter CMI based on previous research, and investigated how consumers read/understand and navigate it using current technology. This is a new way of approaching consumer education on QUM by using technology and new research findings.
