Part 1: Collecting and presenting expert opinions
Expert Opinion is frequently used in PBAC submissions to provide information where observable data is not readily available. The critical choice of main comparator and the description of “before” and “after” treatment algorithms often rely heavily on expert opinion. It is therefore crucial to collect and present this information in a way that is acceptable to the PBAC. As with all methods of data collection, the outputs are only as good as the inputs and methodology used.

The audience may have already collected expert opinion for use in PBAC submissions or might be about to embark on this track for their next submission. Interested participants will be looking for advice on best practice for conducting surveys and new ideas for the administration of clinician and treatment surveys.
Part 2: Principles of Good Practices for Decision Analytic Modelling

This session is aimed at providing the audience with a review of previously published Good Practice Guidelines and present a checklist for economic evaluations submitted to the PBAC.
The session will cover:
1) Review of published Good Practice Guidelines
2) A Good Practice Guidelines checklist
3) Integrating the checklist with Sections C and D of the PBAC Guidelines
